Mass-produced furniture is designed to look identical. Our furniture is designed around the individual character of the wood.

Every slab has its own grain patterns, live edges, knots, movement and natural imperfections. Our finishing process is intended to preserve those characteristics while creating a refined piece of furniture suitable for luxury interiors.

The Finishing Process

Creating a luxury live edge table involves considerably more than attaching a base to a slab.

After the wood and design have been selected, the piece moves through a detailed production and finishing process. Depending on the project, this can include flattening, sanding, live-edge preparation, resin work, filling natural voids, surface refinement, finishing and final inspection.

The goal is to retain the organic beauty that made the slab extraordinary in the first place while creating a smooth, durable and sophisticated finished surface.

It is this combination of natural material and meticulous hand-finishing that gives Indigenous by La Rue furniture its distinctive character.

Custom Resin & Live Edge Table Finishing

Resin allows us to work with natural openings, unusual slab shapes and dramatic wood formations that might otherwise be difficult to incorporate into functional furniture.

Depending on the design, resin can be used to preserve natural voids, connect sections of wood or become an intentional part of the table's composition.

Our custom resin tables can be created in a range of appearances, from understated clear or translucent pours that allow the wood to remain the focal point to more dramatic designs created specifically for a client's interior.
