Frequently Asked Questions

You’ve got questions? We’ve got answers!

  • Most of our slabs are sourced from Indonesia, either responsibly through government-permitted land clearing or directly from family-owned farms. Every piece has a story that’s rooted in nature, not mass production.

    • Oil Varnish Blend (Matte): A hand-rubbed European finish that brings out deep wood grain. Water-resistant, but not waterproof. Use coasters and wipe spills promptly.

    • Polyurethane: Durable with a smoother, glossier feel. Available in Flat, Satin, or Gloss. Best for preserving the natural color of light woods, such as Tamarind.

    • Conversion Varnish: Our most durable finish, which is ideal for commercial use and high-traffic areas. Chemical-resistant with a sleek, high-end look.

    • Epoxy: High-gloss, crystal-clear, and fully encapsulated. Great for statement pieces, but may scratch over time. Best for indoor use only.

    • Shou Sugi Ban: A traditional Japanese method that chars the wood, turning it deep black while highlighting its natural grain.

    • Bleached: For a clean, bright white look. The final tone may vary depending on the wood and topcoat used.

  • Here are a few quick guidelines:

    • Dining tables are typically 30" high. Leave 3 feet of clearance on all sides for comfortable movement.

    • Table widths generally range from 36"–42", with 40" being the most common.

    • Chair seat height averages 18"–20".

    • Counter stools pair best with a seat height of 24"–27".

    • Bar stools fit a seat height of 34"–40".

    • Coffee tables should sit about 2" lower than your sofa seat, and be 50%–75% the length of the couch.
