Blown Glass.

Your beautiful glass piece was hand made by an Indigenous family in Bali, Indonesia. This handcrafted item was blown carefully and then pressed onto the Teak wood piece in order to create the bond and unity between the two. We hope you enjoy this unique piece and know that you’ve helped continue the families craft of glass blowing.

Amate.

Brought from Puebla Mexico the artisan for these tapestries won the national prize for his artistry and for keeping his indigenous art alive.

The technique dates back 200 years in his personal family. His grandfather taught him and he still makes it the same way by stripping 4 main trees of the bark he leaves the bark soaking over night and then the next day he’ll boil it for 4 hours adding in the organic dyes and then pounding, weaving, brigading and layering on top of his work. All the Amate’s are then lined in the back completing and tying in all the different techniques.

His wife is the one that does the embroidery work of the Otomi in some of the Amate.
