This beautiful hand woven Amate is made up from up to 4 different types of bark. The process used remains the same as has been for over hundreds of years.
Where bark is picked off of the tree (without hurting the tree) and then it's left soaking overnight and the next day it's boiled for 4 hours in natural dyes to create long strands and then hand woven, knotted, pounded and stamped all top create these wonderful pieces of art.
These beautiful tapestries are very light and easy to hang directly over a bed with push-pins or make a dramatic statement by framing them.
